This a bit old but i don’t care because you will probably love it too.
This beautiful stop motion animation was made for 4th Estate Publishers’ 25th Anniversary.
It was produced by Apt Studio and Asylum Films. It took 3 weeks to produce and it took 20 animators, and more than 1,000 books!.

Check out the making of right below!

La Maison en petits cubes

0

Kunio Kato, won an Oscar this year (2009) with this beautiful short film, named “La Maison en petits cubes“.
I love the way it was drawn, and the way the story is told, i bet it can make people cry!
The storytelling in the film reminded me a bit the first minutes of pixar’s Up (wich came out after this short film).

Kunio Kato said he was very inspired by:
Webdy Tilby & Amanda Forbis’ “When the day breaks” (1999)
Jean Pierre Jeunet’s “Delicatessen” (1991)
Fumiko Takano’s art
Yoji Yamada‘s “Otoko Wa Tsurai Yo

I think, he totally deserved the award! ;)

Rush Hour – London

0

It’s been a while since i last posted a time lapse film in here.
Chris Searson got inspired by Koyaanisqatsi and did this video about rush hours in london.
He says “A DSLR was set up to take a frame every 2 secs with a shutter speed of around 0.3 – 2 secs with an ND8 filter was used to create a motion blur which helps to increase the sense of rush and movement within the film.
